Lotus

As an artist, my life purpose is to practice my sacred dance, witness others’ dances with love, and after my time is done, move on to the next dimension in grace knowing I’ve done the best I can to make that which is unseen known. I try to stay focused on that ideal amongst the chaos of surviving in our busy world.

I would like to share with you that there are many forms of communication, but I have been drawn to communicate conceptually through the creation of visual art. I have found my passion in using acrylics, inks, and on most occasions, a wide range of other mixed media to express myself. I don’t write often. I don’t seem to speak of important things in much detail. But, I have realized that many people don’t tend to notice the nuances of silence… and through painting I intend to communicate what I find there.

My creative process is very intuitive and natural to me… sometimes starting with a paint splatter and articulating the patters that I see… sometimes elaborating on a doodle… But on a more sophisticated level, I draw upon a background in Anthropology and enjoy applying cultural, numerical, and sacred geometric symbolism to communicate with the viewer in a hybrid visual language what my lifetime experience has been of synchronicity, higher level awareness, and intense emotional currents in the world.

My painting is how I choose to embody my sacred dance and if you find any beauty and mystery in it then my wish would be for you to make it your own. Sometimes my work is nearly mathematically balanced and at other times appallingly awkward but I celebrate all facets of my spectrum equally, nonetheless, as we should all appreciate each other and ourselves fully.

Workshop

Symmetry Body Flow with Lotus

Explore the symmetry and movement of your body through color with the full body movement based chalk pastel pieces we will be creating. Participants will have 6’ x 8’ paper mediums taped to the floor for them with pastel chalks available in a variety of colors. After Lotus’ demonstration, participants will have the opportunity to create beautifully symmetrical pieces of work that capture their form and their experience at LoveLight with bringing health and light to their bodies. Participants can roll their finished work up and take it home with them.
